Beating the everliving hell out of a live gorilla

Hallo there! You may or may not (depending on whether or not you're my girlfriend) have noticed that I haven't updated this thing in a little while. Well the blame for that can be filed firmly under the twin headings of "real life" and "my godforsaken, bloody minded crappy, crappy, job". But, of course, I digress.
Here are some of my latest offerings, featuring a slightly different subject to the normal dark and broody fare which normally forms the focus of my artistic ramblings. Now its all unicorns and snow, instead of gangsters and day-glow backgrounds. Everything you see here was created for my girlfriend, and the images formed the designs for various greetings cards. Everything from christmas, my girlfriends birthday to valentines day. She likes unicorns. I like her. It works out :D
I'm now looking for more illustration work. Its been far to long since I last drew anything for money, and I'd quite like to start again. So if you know of, or have anywork, please don't be shy and drop me a line at christownsend18@gmail.com.
Cheers.

...and thats why I don't like cricket.

Hello again. Me here. Just stopping off to post a little bit of work. Its a lovely series of portraits from a rather good series. Mayhaps you've heard of it, its called BattleStar Galatica.

Anyways, I've been working on an awesome piece of Galactica based fanboy artwork, which was concieved after a rampant 5 day dvd boxset binge.

May God help me.

Now after my actual job intervened and forced me to get up out from behind my drawing board I've been forced to abandon it for a little while. But just to make sure you don't think I've been completley bone-idle, and have made up an impossibly sad tale of sci-fi addition and wage-slavery to try and cover up my laziness, I'm going to post the pics I've done so far. What do you think about that? Hmmmm?

(Bonus points if you can name the characters. Super bonus mega points it you can name the characters using only my scrawlings as a guide.)

Little Red Riding Hood

Bet you didn't think I'd update so soon did you? Anyways, this is a piece that I did for my lovely girlfriend Chrissie. It's of her dressed up for Halloween in a rather fetching Little Red Riding Hood costume. I just really hope I managed to do her justice in this picture.

In which I finally update my sporadically updated comicbook blog

Hello again. It's been months since I last updated anything on this, and I guess the one or two people (alright mum?) that have ever bothered to look at it are probably wondering what happened. Well to be honest the pressing need for gainful employment is what happened, and with a full time job to try and keep, I wasn't left with much time to draw.

But now that's going to change...

Hopefully.

This is a little piece I did just for fun a little while ago, its a mix of pen and ink and photoshop. He was part of an idea I had for a comic that I never got time to work on properly (damn you real life, DAMN YOU!).
From now on I'm actually going to try and keep this updated with new work, actual work permitting. I promise. Scout's honour. No really. Trust me, I'm honest as the day is long... granted it is now winter time and the days are drawing in but that in no way weakens my proclaimation of honesty... honest.
Check back soon-ish.

In which I finally update my blog.

It's been a while hasn't it? Anyways, below are the cover pencils to a comic proposal that I was working on with a writer. It doesn't look like that particular project is going to get any further so I thought I'd show everyone out there a tiny taste of what I've been doing for the last 3 months. (Not much). Of course this comic might be picked up eventually, in which case you all have just gotten an amazing preview of awesomeness. If it doesn't get picked up you can all just join me in lamenting what might've been.

Bad-ass fan art.

For some reason these only can only be viewed in a larger format if downloaded. I think its because the quality of the j-peg was on full. Sorry.
